Jacob's Ladder is a high voltage climbing arc. The 15,000 volt difference between the two copper pipes creates a very high electric field and ionizes the air molecules. The air changes from an insulator to a conductor and an electric arc forms that "climbs up the ladder". Created by AP Physics and Mr. McGraw's gifted students Danny Sallurday and Jake MacDonald class of 2016.
Due to the Covid-19 quarantine, WSHS Awards Night and National Honor Society ceremonies have been cancelled and will be recorded and shared with students and their families.
Mr. Deluca did not want the top 10 students to go unrecognized for their outstanding academic accomplishments so he along with Mr. Budd and Mr. Butka delivered the top 10 students in the class of 2020 their Invader Awards, Honor Society sashes, Letterman pins and letters and Top 10 medals.
The Invaders brought home "The Bell" in 2016 and the Technology Club wanted to congratulate them with music and a little electricity courtesy of two Tesla coils. The Technology Club salutes the West Scranton Invaders Football Team for bringing home the bell. A high voltage Tesla Coil salute!
